How to become a dictator, step seventy-three

Why, indoctrinate the children, of course.

And Venezuela continues its steady slide into repression.

It seems like he's been much quieter since Bush left.

  • Well up to a certain point all education is some form of indoctrination, the flavor is just different. Our way of doing it has just been around longer and the bias is pro-capitalistic instead of pro-socialism. Having been in elementary school in both the states and here I can safely say that there's spin everywhere. I see this and teaching intelligent design in science class as pretty much neck to neck. Chavez just isn't being subtle about it.

I think I could agree with Philippe. Unless you're talking about math class, it's hard to say where line is between education and indoctrination.

  • I have learned that politics can get anywhere… even in math. In WWII, there is one theorem that was postulated simultaneously in the US and in Japan and for the longest time only the American was acknowledged for the finding.
