Problems with comments
Just a note to say I’m having some temporary problems with the comments. They may not be working for you right now, and your antivirus software might be giving you a message about a malicious script. Rest assured that this is a glitch, not a real virus attack, and I’m working to get things resolved soon.
Whazzup wit dos ads?
You may have noticed some rather odd-sounding advertisements cropping up at the bottom of the comments screens lately. Things like “Vote for Bush” or “accept Jesus” or other oddities that those readers who know me would know I would NEVER endorse. It seems Haloscan is making these decisions arbitrarily and, well, I’m too cheap to pay for a commenting system to get rid of them. I’m checking into my options, but in the meantime, consider this a disclaimer that any ads showing up in the comments screens do NOT reflect the views of this website.
Chanks.
Kudos to the commentators!
Under each message on my blog is that little link that says “comments”. Well, it’s usually there – Haloscan has been kinda unreliable lately. But there are a few people here who have taken up the offer, and I have to give credit where it’s due. There are some really intelligent people making really insightful comments. To some of you regulars, you should start your own blog.
Sure, there are some really dumb ones as well. There are plenty that I disagree with. But at least there’s (for the most part) informed debate going on, and not just a bunch of name-calling.
Of course, now that I bring this up, some idiot will probably decide to troll me just for the fun of it. I know I’m tempting them bigtime. But I think that credit should go where it’s due. So if you’re here reading what I have to say, have a look at what some of them are saying as well.
Update on comments
Well, the old missing comments are back, but now the new ones have disappeared (from the past four days or so). Hopefully they’ll be back soon. Sorry about the inconvenience – nobody’s being censored, it’s just Haloscan having problems again.
Update: They’re all back now.
Comments down
Note to readers: Comments were down for most of today. If you notice the most recent few days’ comments are missing, Haloscan assures us that they have not been lost and will be restored a bit later today.
I guess you get what you pay for.
Comments down again
Comments seem to be down on the site . . . again. I’m getting a bit fed up with Haloscan. In the meantime, sit tight, hopefully they’ll be back soon.
Missing comments
There appears to be a glitch with the site comments. Haloscan has a short message saying that they’re working on their server. In the meantime, I just want to inform all readers that any missing comments are the result of this server problem and not censorship.
