It must be a new sign of just how low society has fallen: Howard Stern sued ABC over a TV series that evaluates contestants solely based on looks:
The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Superior Court, accuses the network of copying the “unique aspects” of a Stern radio segment in which members of his crew and guests evaluate the bodies of in-studio contestants.
Stern claims that some of the tactics used on his show were duplicated by ABC’s version. Some of the alleged similarities include blunt criticism of contestants and the use of a laser pointer to highlight areas of the contestant’s body.
This might just be my utter disgust showing, but to me, it’s really sad that a radio personality and a network would be falling over themselves competing to claim this idea as their own. If I were them, I’d be fighting to disclaim it.
Sari– More from Concordia. The School’s really making a name for itself! HAd this happened at Lakehead, nobody would have cared. Double standards? You bet.
Concordia as the Israel of Universities?

Nothing to do with Stern (actually, I liked listening to him when he was on CHOM and then on Q107 in Toronto via Bell ExpressVu until some point after September 11th, so sue me)… but you hit the Blogger big time!
Glenn Reynolds mentioned you!
Check it out for yourself: http://www.instapundit.com/archives/008144.php#008144
Oh, wait, for people too lazy to cut-and-paste that link, click on the “homepage” link in this post to get to the Glenn Reynolds post that mentions Sari, since I used the “homepage” link in my previous post to plug my own crappy blog.
Hi Steve,
Yes, actually I had noticed that. Glenn’s linked to me before, most notably around the time of the Chanukah party at Concordia. And he’s been nice enough to permalink me in his blog-roll. If that’s the mark of success in the blogosphere, well, call me tickled pink.
Stern’s show on E! was “low” but he also made you laugh, poking fun at himself, the models and his staff. ABC’s show on the other hand is just a bore. It is basicaly BAy Watch wihtout the beach, or the bay.
I find Stern pretty humurous some of the time. For the first time in a long while I was listened to him this morning and he was hilarious in his comments about Clinton and the French.
Anyway, all the power to him.
Stern is pissed because the rest of the media treat him like a pariah and then steal his ideas.
Street Smarts is also a Stern ripoff.
Leno and Letterman have also ripped off Stern’s on the street bits and that is why he refuses to do their shows anymore.
Also he is monitored ferociously by the FCC and can’t even say “shit” on the radio without them coming down on him like a ton of bricks. At the same time prime time is now full of much “worse” language.
