Gas prices

Gas prices are in the high 90s and have been for a few weeks now. People are starting to adjust. I’ve seen them as high as 99.9.

But I have a feeling we’re not going to see that dollar mark crossed for a while. Why? Because then all the gas station owners would have to replace their big signs with ones that can accommodate 4 digits. And somehow I can’t see them being so anxious to shell out the big bucks that that’s going to cost.

So get used to 99.9 per litre. I think the prices are going to hover there for a while.

Because they can’t move the decimal point over one spot, right?

Thats one dollar and 3 cents per litre, 3 sig figs, nothing more needed

they can sell by the half-liter and they won’t have to upgrade their signs.

I already saw a gas station in Ville st Pierre that has made room on its sign for four digits. I’m not sure how they did it exactly but I had the impression that they replaced the cent symbol with a number.

Looks like some of the signs can be easily changed, and others (ironically, most of the newer ones) are harder to switch. At any rate, prices are hovering around 93 cents at the moment.
