AHAA! Delegating editorial authority; this might be a mistake…;)

  • John Palubiski 09.24.05, 7:12 PM

DinV, do you think I can awaken Tré and draw her from her lair by just saying something nice about Israel like; “the weather is often sunny”?

Or is an abundance of sunshine merely the result of “oppression” and *occupation*?

  • DaninVan 09.24.05, 8:35 PM

*Gasp* are you CRAZY!!! Don’t do that!
I’m still trying to get my strength back from that exhausting ’61’ er.
    😉

    From Dhimmiwatch, this AM:

    September 24, 2005
    Bush Waives Saudi Trafficking Sanctions

While the Saudis continue to preach jihad, they get to keep their slaves, courtesy the archdhimmi at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. From AP:

WASHINGTON — President Bush decided Wednesday to waive any financial sanctions on Saudi Arabia, Washington’s closest Arab ally in the war on terrorism, for failing to do enough to stop the modern-day slave trade in prostitutes, child sex workers and forced laborers.

In June, the State Department listed 14 countries as failing to adequately address trafficking problems, subjecting them all to possible sanctions if they did not crack down.

Of those 14, Bush concluded that Bolivia, Jamaica, Qatar, Sudan, Togo and the United Arab Emirates had made enough improvements to avoid any cut in U.S. aid or, in the case of countries that get no American financial assistance, the barring of their officials from cultural and educational events, said Darla Jordan, a State Department spokeswoman….

In addition to Saudi Arabia, Ecuador and Kuwait _ another U.S. ally in the Middle East _ were given a complete pass on any sanctions, Jordan said. Despite periodic differences, oil-rich Saudi Arabia and the United States have a tight alliance built on economic and military cooperation….

The White House statement offered no explanation of why countries were regarded differently. Jordan also could not provide one.

That’s about as close as I’m gonna get to criticizing ‘youknowwho’.

Yeah, I’ve read the article you linked to DinV. Bush really shills for the Saudis, doesn’t he?

It peeves me to think that every time I fill up I’m contributing, in my own small way, to the propagation of terrorism.

You know, they should revise those taxes/profits pie charts one sees at the gas pumps and insert an extra wedge labelled “jihad”.

    It’d be rather crude……but accurate!

  • Tré 09.25.05, 5:22 PM

There’s something we can agree on John. But that would just expose the hypocracy of the “freedom fighting” Western governments.

  • cliff from montreal 09.25.05, 7:15 PM

Juxtapose the statement “the hypocracy of the “freedom fighting” Western governments.” with the hypocrisy of the jihadists who are “fighting freedom!”

  • DaninVan 09.26.05, 2:21 AM

Actually JohnP, that’s a great idea! A guy could overlay a wedge shaped pce. of electrician’s tape over the pie graph and label it with a Dymo labeller..who would even notice the change?

  • Jonny 09.26.05, 7:47 AM

I heard Bush and the Saudi Dictator were going to be married in Montreal. Not sure if its true though.

  • John Palubiski 09.26.05, 3:35 PM

Yes Jonny, they are! The nuptuals will be held downtown……at the Cathedral of “Mary-Queen-of-the-World”……

One other thing, my sources tell me the Saudi dictator’s train will be very, very long……longer even than Lady Di’s!! 😉

British stores have just barely put out their haloween merchadise, but they are now getting ready for xmas as well.

I’ve seen one aisle in each of the major supermarkets already decked out with xmas decorations, gift sets, and other goodies.

Are the gentiles out there thinking about xmas right now???

  • DaninVan 09.27.05, 5:04 AM

Where you been, Josh? You’ve been missing all the fun with Tre…

Re Xmas decos; yeh, they’re out here in some of the more aggressive stores ( here being Canada).

A female acqaintance dropped the tidbit in conversation that she’s just finished wrapping all her Xmas presents…..arrgggghh! 🙁

  • John Palubiski 09.27.05, 4:36 PM

I never have a probleme with buying or wrapping Christmas presents…because I never do!

It’s always enjoyable to receive them, though.

So if you need details about my mailing address or a complete and comprehensive list of big-ticket gifts (and not just cars!) I’d like to get, just e-mail me!!

Actually, the Orthodox Christians have it best; their Xmas is later so they get to cash in on all the boxing-day sales.

Divine compensation for the loss of Constantinople, I suppose….

Gee DinV, where DO you find these tidbits!

Hilarious and entirely appropriate, not to mention inovative!

Very first time anyone has responded to my posts by linking to song lyrics.

Ok, Sari’s apparently otherwise occupied (or is really unclear on the “weekend” concept):

Robinson ponders a comeback run — against Fry

    Barbara Yaffe
    Vancouver Sun

    Wednesday, September 28, 2005

Former MP Svend Robinson is canvassing the views of friends and foes around town about the prospect of his political resurrection.

“I still have a lot of energy and passion and care deeply about many of the issues that are front and centre in political life today,” Robinson asserted Tuesday. “I still have something to contribute, frankly.”

Anyone who knows the 53-year-old activist New Democrat long suspected he’d try for a political comeback. Robinson sidelined himself in the June 2004 election as he awaited prosecution for stealing a diamond ring at an auction house two months earlier.

(or is really unclear on the “weekend” concept)

Actually I’m out of town on business. Blogging may be spotty for a while. Sorry ’bout that.

  • John Palubiski 09.29.05, 4:44 PM

Rats! I wrote a post about Svend’s return and something went awry and it disappeared.

And to make matters worse I just ripped my pants….

  • DaninVan 09.29.05, 7:41 PM

Hopefully thinking about Svend and ripping your pants are not connected…;)

  • DaninVan 09.29.05, 7:43 PM

…I just checked my watch, and yes, it IS time for a rye…
