According to the Canadian groundhogs, it will be an early spring. Neither Wiarton Willie nor Shubenacadie Sam saw their shadows.
It’s been one of the warmest winters on record, so I can’t say the news comes as a surprise. Frankly, I’m getting annoyed. This weather is wreaking havoc with my ski season, not to mention turning the roads into giant potholes.
I don’t drive and I don’t ski…I’m lovin’ this!
Snodrops are blooming in our garden, not to mention the Viburnum davidii for the last month, and the Sarcoccoca hookeriana this past week.

Is religion the reason that you don’t drive or ski? If that is the case no wonder you are so screwed up.
Lots of people don’t drive or ski; now if you include no booze and no nookie you’d have me convinced.
LOL. Malia actually got me to laugh. The answer is NO – I’m an atheist if you must know.
Viburnum davidii and the Sarcoccoca hookeriana…so that’s what he smokes…
I just thank heavens that the recent precipitation fell as rain and not snow. Had it been the latter we’d be burried under about three feet of it.
Anyways, it,s the 7th of Feb. and the sun now rises at 6:59AM and sets at 5:02PM.
That’s a big difference compared to the solstice ( 21st Dec.)
In another week or two the sun will be strong enough, even though it’ll still be cold, to make steam rise from bare wet pavement.
That’s a true sign spring is around the corner….or under the rug….or whatever!
DinV, the names of those flowers you mentioned sound like magic incantations!
John P.! Where you been?
Computer problemes, busy work schedule, net “fatigue” etc, DinV.
And I’d like to ask where Sari is, by the way!
No entries since groundhog day!
Hmmmm…..
Maybe she’s in another ‘borough’?
😉
Dan, I can only assume she’s in hibernation.
Good play on words, by the way! 😉
Lol…thanks J.P., I thought you’d like that.
