This is the good news?

Ariel Sharon moved slightly and is breathing on his own after doctors allowed him to emerge from a medically-induced coma. But they’re saying it’s still too early to tell if – and how extensive – there is brain damage.

Whether you like him or hate him, it’s really awful to see such a high-profile man reduced to this.

It really makes me wonder..a man who as he grew older..decided peace would be the better way. Then, all of a sudden…major health problems strike this man….it does make me wonder whether there is foul play involved.
It seems people who want to make a go of peace…seem to be on the losing end.

This is almost too ludicrous to respond to, except that it reminds me of an old joke, the one with the punch line “How do you start a flood?” I’ll post the whole thing if anyone hasn’t heard it.

OK … Paul, how do you start a stroke? Old people die. Old men who are very overweight and under stress have strokes. Leaders die of natural causes at inopportune times (see FDR, or Chicago mayor Harold Washington). The idea of foul play is as absurd as the Pat Robertson divine punishment for withdrawing from Gaza hypothesis (BTW, how many U.S. evangelicals have volunteered to serve in the IDF in ther territories? Not a whole bunch, I bet, but they’re quick to tell Israelis to keep pouring money and blood into them, just so Jesus can return and cast Jews into a lake of fire.)

    uh, uh.

I’m certainly not celebrating Sharon getting sick, but I’m also not too sad at all. It pains me much, much more that 1030 Jews were killed on his watch and ‘he’ came to the came conclusion that the best way to fight is to retreat, and plan more retreats. I am very happy that he has finished his political career, it pains me to see the lion of Israel of the 80s and 90s turn his back on Israel and give up, at the same time and not any less, I wish him a refuah shlema, that he return to his ranch, and live until 120.

Hopefully, Netanyahu will get elected. It is time for Israel to toughen up of the Palestinian problem. The only way for peace is for the Palestinians to realize they are not a people and to move to Arab lands and leave Israelis and world Jewry alone.
