There is nothing wrong with the Saudis funding islamic groups in Canada. Islam is a religion of peace and they are welcome in Canada.
As to islamic ==> terrorist.. then that is just a racist point of view that Israel-USA are trying to push.
but it is false.
just a guy
Religion of Peace? Like the peaceful rape and pillage of Chinese Indonesians? And who are you calling racist? Ain’t that the pot calling the kettle black.
jag:
Ummm, the linked article discusses the Saudis funding Islamic terrorist front groups, not legitimate Islamic associations. Not sure where you drew the inference you appear to have drawn from Segac’s comment, it seemed reasonable to me.
But since you brought it up, ever heard of a place called Darfour? Or an Islamic association called Al-Queada? Or a guy named Yasser? Google them, and challenge your worldview. Tip: it won’t be fun.
Calm down everybody. This guy is a joker. He can’t possibly be serious. Thanks for the laugh guy!
Malia; good to have you back! Where you been?
what does “segac” stands for BTW?
What’s that old Jesus quote, something about ‘lift the scales from mine eyes’?
Hello, Christiandom (sp?):

(*damn*) sorry, that was me.
It always amazes me that the officials of these groups aren’t getting heat for being unregistered agents of a foreign government.
Wahabis reject all forms of Islam other than their own, and advocate the overthrow of all non-Wahabi governments, whether muslim or not. Apparently people don’t realize that part of what Wahabiism is about is spreading the influence of Saudi Arabia as the worlds only legitimate state.
The amazing thing is that (at least in the US,as far as I know, maybe not in canada), a PR firm funded by the Saudi government to spread the idea that Saudi Arabia is a good vacation destination is considered an agent of a foreign government. A cleric, paid by the Saudi government to spread the idea that the only alternative to the adoption of Saudi state ideology should be a violent death, is not. (?!)
Guys — Saudi Arabi officially follows the Hanbali Fiph, not Wahabi/Salafi, despite the popularity of Salafism.
And Tali, you need to some homework is Islamic Jurisprudence, schools of law, fiqhs, etc. A little googling will get you going. Best of luck
