Today was clear, sunny… and a balmy minus 22 degrees centigrade with a windchill of minus 33.

Damian, I sympathize. I really do. But look on the bright side: at least by you, it’s warm enough to snow.

    Sunshine Coast continued

    Heavy rainfall will continue over the above regions.

    This is a warning that heavy rain is imminent or occurring in these
    Regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

    A pacific front will continue to influence the south coast Weather for the next 24 hours. Very moist and mild air with Tropical origins associated with the front has been generating Heavy rainfall over most of the south coast. The heaviest rainfalls Are expected over greater Vancouver..Lower Fraser Valley..Howe Sound and west Vancouver Island where 50 to 100 millimetres are forecast over the next 24 hours. Other parts of the south coast especially those in the rain shadow of local mountains like Victoria and the east side of Vancouver Island will receive somewhat less rain with near millimetres forecast over the next 24 hours. This Strong tropical flow is expected to persist through Thursday. There is the potential for extreme total rainfalls across the south Coast. The Lower Fraser Valley..Howe Sound..And the west coast of Vancouver Island regions could see anywhere from 150 to 250 millimetres of rainfall over the next 3 days.

    An onshore flow of moist pacific air overrunning cold Arctic air trapped at lower elevations in parts of the north coast – inland sections will continue to produce freezing rain tonight before the air warms further at the lower levels and liquid precipitation Takes over. Freezing rain amounts are expected to be less than 5 mm.

    In case you don’t ‘do’ metric, that “250mm” translates to 10″ of rain in the next 3 days…on top of the flooding we ALREADY have. I swear, if I hear some f**king Gov’t toady whine about water shortages next summer, I’m going to do something I’ll regret…
